STEP 1: Learn How to Paddleboard
If this is your first time to paddleboard then we require that you take one of our Beginner Paddle Level 1 classes. In 75 minutes we will leave you feeling knowledgable and confident in your approach to paddleboarding for years to come. This is your first steps on the water and a pre-requisite if you decide to become a member of our Surf Club.
Beginner Paddle (Level 1) Classes (May 1-Sept 1)
DFW Surf (Frisco): Saturdays/ Sundays at 9 am and 4 pm. Thursdays/Mondays at 10 am.
DFW Surf (Grapevine): Saturdays/ Sundays at 9 am.
*New* Friday Night Friendly First Timers Sunset Paddle Class- 7:30 pm
*Cost: $40. All beginner classes are 60-75 minutes in length. Swimming ability required. 10 Years Minimum Class Age (or parent approval). All equipment provided. All students under the age of 18 will have to wear a coast guard approved life jacket, all others will have the option of PFD inflata-belt or USCGA jacket. Intermediate Paddle (Level 2) Classes
DFW Surf (Frisco): Sundays at 5 pm.
*Cost: $80. Dive even deeper into the sport of paddleboarding with DFW Surf founder and Yolo Board waterman Tyler Marshall. Beyond the basics the Level 2 class explores even deeper into the specifics: efficient and more powerful paddling, crossbow and pivot turns + footwork and advanced waterman rescue techniques. Club members are required to take the Level 2 class to be eligible for our “friends/family paddle free program.”
